Saudi Arabia’s education ministry is working on eliminating leased school buildings in the next few years, Minister Ahmed Al-Issa said on his Twitter account.
Elimination of leased school buildings will be finalized through several programs, including the construction of educational buildings through public-private partnerships (PPP) under a 20-year finance scheme.
The new program will be announced within the next few days, he added.
The ministry has reduced the number of leased government buildings to 5,150 this year from 7,122 within the past two years, after it had launched 1,257 new typical school buildings.
