Belgium will set up a training center for its country’s energy-saving machines used in the Kingdom, Arab News has reported, citing area sales manager of Belgium-based Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC), Vincent Pirot.
Riyadh was chosen so that people could come for training from the GCC countries, as well as from neighboring Arab countries, such as Egypt.
ABC will help the implementation of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center’s plans on saving 1.5 million barrels per day, which is 15 percent of the total oil production, through offering efficient power generation solutions, said Geert Criel, the Belgian ambassador to the Kingdom.
“Power efficiency is one of the central themes of Saudi Vision 2030. A 38 percent of the Saudi production of oil and gas is locally consumed, mainly in the transport sector and electricity production,” he added.
Anglo Belgian Corporation was founded in 1912 by a group of Belgian entrepreneurs. It manufactures diesel engines available with various power outputs.
