Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasury bonds rose by $44.6 billion to $147.4 billion by the end of 2017 compared to $102.8 billion at the end of 2016.
In December, Saudi holdings of US debt fell $ 0.2 billion month-on-month. The Kingdom is currently the 11th largest holder of US debt.
Elsewhere in the GCC, the United Arab Emirates’ holdings of US debt declined by around $0.5 billion to $57.7 billion in December, while Kuwait’s holdings remained unchanged at $36.8 billion.
