Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) is planning to invest SAR 240 billion ($64 billion) in the entertainment sector over the next ten years, through raising funds from the public and private sectors, GEA chairman Ahmed Al-Khatib said.
The authority has also embarked on construction of an opera house.
Saudi Arabia has started to localize the industry, in line with the highest international standards.
The entertainment industry provided 17,000 job opportunities for citizens in 2017 and targets 220,000 jobs, Al-Khatib added.
