King Salman reshuffled on Tuesday top military officers and deputy ministers as part of a broader shakeup to include some of the Kingdom's younger officials in key security and economic positions.

The military’s chief of staff was removed and replaced by First Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwayli, according to royal decrees, while new chiefs were appointed to the Kingdom’s air defense and land forces.

Elsewhere, Tamadur bin Youssef Al Ramah was named deputy labor minister. Several new deputies were also appointed in economic and security-ministries.
