Saudi Arabia closes 440 petrol stations for violations

Saudi Arabia has closed up to 440 out of 1,219 fuel stations located on highways, due to their failure to fulfill the requirements set by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs for upgrade of gasoline stations and service centers, data obtained by Argaam showed.

 

As many as 246 stations were fully sealed, with other 138 facilities partially closed due to violations.

 

Meanwhile, the Kingdom also shut down other 56 stations, which have not contracted prequalified firms or failed to fulfill the upgrade requirements.

 

The competent executive has prioritized eight highways to monitor construction of fuel stations and service centers.
