Sadara Chemical appoints Oliver Thorel as board member

Sadara Basic Services Co. said its parent, Sadara Chemical Co., had appointed Oliver Thorel as a non-executive board member, effective from March 11.

Thorel replaced non-executive board member Mohammad Al-Shammari, who resigned on March 11 to take on other responsibilities.

Thorel’s appointment is still subject to the approval of the next general assembly, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

The new board member joined Saudi Aramco in January as executive director for the chemicals business. He was previously a senior executive at Royal Dutch Shell since 1990.
