US-Saudi trade touches SAR 2 trln in 10 years

The volume of trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and the United States reached more than SAR 2 trillion over the last 10 years, and hit a record high of SAR 287 billion in 2012, data compiled by Argaam showed.

 

Saudi exports to the US included metals, chemicals, fertilizers, aluminum and plastics products. Meanwhile, Saudi imports from the US comprised vehicles, aircraft, electric appliances and medical equipment.

 

A total of 474 US-Saudi partnership projects are currently operating in the Kingdom, including 90 industrial companies, and 384 service providers.

 

The US-Saudi Arabian Business Council was founded in 2003 to bolster investment and trade between both countries.

 

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is expected to sign several cooperation agreements during his ongoing official visit to the United States.
