Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz International Airport will launch operations at full scale by next January, Al-Watan newspaper reported.
A test operation of the new airport will start in May, by operating eight flights daily, then routes will be increased gradually towards full-scale inauguration.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has yet to appoint a new airport operator, after it unilaterally terminated a 20-year operating contract signed with a consortium led by Changi Airports International (CAI).
