Saudi Arabia plans to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with US-based Boeing Co. as the aircraft manufacturer looks to provide support and training to the Kingdom’s fleet, Reuters reported, citing Ahmed Al Khateeb, chairman of the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI).
Saudi Arabia is in talks with US firms to scale up their operations in the Kingdom, as it aims to localize 50 percent of its military industry by 2030.
“Hopefully we will be announcing other MoUs with other big American companies,” Khateeb told the news agency on the sidelines of the 2018 Saudi-US CEO Forum in New York.
