Wadi, a regional e-commerce website, has launched "Dragon Souk,” its new online international store, in Saudi Arabia.

The global e-shop stocks over one million products in different categories such as accessories, electronics, beauty, fashion, toys, home and kitchen, and baby care, with prices starting from SAR 9, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

“We have launched 'Dragon Souk' to offer an even wider range of products to our customers, providing them with products that are not easily found in the Middle East, as it is a new market for e-commerce compared to established ones like China, India and Europe," said Pratik Gupta, one of Wadi’s founders.

The company plans to launch the "Dragon Souk" in the UAE later this year as well as open a new office in China, as part of its expansion strategy.

According to Wadi, 30 percent of the online shopping process in the Middle East still happens from international e-commerce players like Alibaba, Amazon, eBay etc., with these players taking 15 to 45 days to deliver with high shipping fees and no option of cash on delivery.

Pratik said its international store (Dragon Souk) offers one million plus products from international countries with 15-day delivery, with an option of cash on delivery, Arabic catalogue and low shipping fees.

Wadi is 33 percent owned by Tadawul-listed Al Tayyar Travel Group Holding Co.
