Saudi Arabia’s 3G mobile network coverage stands at 97 percent in populated areas, while 4G coverage reaches 85 percent, said Abdullah Al-Sawahah, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
Internet speed doubled in 2017 after adding new frequency spectrum, he added.
The Kingdom’s three Saudi telecom operators have begun pilot operations of the 5G network, Al-Sawahah said, adding that the Kingdom seeks to launch the new service by 2020.
