Saudi inventor Maha Talib Al Saadoon has won a Gold Medal for inventing the Counter Weight Hydraulic Piston at the Geneva Inventions Exhibition 2018.

Al Saadoon’s invention is a mechanical unit that is used to pump liquids and gases at any required pressure rate, with almost free and very limited energy consumption.

The device works with remote control without any human effort, which reduces operating costs.

It is used to pump seawater to desalination plants that work with reverse osmosis. It can also generate pressured air used in operating car engines and turbines.

This unit is Al Saadoon’s third invention. She has a master’s degree in strategic management and currently works at the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning.

The exhibition in Geneva included 822 inventions from 40 countries.
