The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is studying the construction of a new airport in Al-Faisaliyah project, in coordination with Makkah Province, said Abdullah Al Remi, GACA Assistant President for Airports.
GACA is also considering the development of Taif International Airport, in partnership with private sector investors.
Makkah’s Al-Faisaliah project, which will be carried out in seven phases and completed by 2050, will include an international airport and a port. It will also house all government authorities in the city.
The project is located in the west of Makkah and extends to the Red Sea.
