Saudi, beIN talks ‘break down’ ahead of World Cup: report

Saudi Arabia and beIN Media Group have been "unable to reach a deal to telecast FIFA 2018 World Cup games", nine days before the Kingdom plays Russia in the tournament's opening match, AFP reported.

FIFA, the World football's governing body, had assisted in contract discussions as the Saudis would not deal directly with Qatar due to the ongoing diplomatic dispute, beIN said in a statement.

Earlier this week, UAE broadcaster du and beIN signed a deal to broadcast all the 64 matches after beIN channels went off-air on du networks during the weekend.
