International oil and gas contractors have submitted bids to join Saudi Aramco’s long term agreement (LTA) pool of offshore contractors, MEED reported.
The firms shortlisted by Aramco for the LTA expansion include: TechnipFMC (France), China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (China), Sapura Energy (Malaysia), Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings (Malaysia), Hyundai Heavy Industries (South Korea), Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (South Korea), Lamprell (UAE), Dragados Offshore (Spain), and Boskalis (Netherlands).
The contractors were given until June 6 to submit their bids, after Aramco extended the deadline twice from the initial closing date in April, the report said.
Aramco was expected to finalize the expansion in the third quarter, but the process could be delayed now until towards the end of the year, it added.
The LTA pool of contractors currently comprises five firms that bid for Aramco’s offshore work. The agreements are for six years and are extendable by another six years.
