The Saudi General Authority for Competition (GAC) is planning to apply the competition law to all firms, including the public and state-owned entities, Okaz newspaper reported, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter.
GAC is studying a comprehensive system to monitor the work of all types of firms and institutions, so as to ensure fair competition among all commercial facilities.
The competition law does not apply to public corporations and wholly–owned state enterprises, according to the data available on Argaam.
