Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) has signed agreements with Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia to expand its services and investments within the Kingdom, the firm said in a statement seen by Argaam.
The deal includes several projects across the board, such as the expansion and enhancement of mobile networks for 2018, cloud computing, and IT and cyber security projects, said Nasser Bin Sulaiman, CEO of STC.
He said that the agreement also includes a number of private partnerships with telecom firms VIVA Kuwait and VIVA Bahrain.
STC plans to reduce operating expenses by bringing its 2G, 3G and 4G mobile stations to the same location, as well as swapping main switchboards with high capacity and quality switchboards, Bin Sulaiman said.
Data speeds are also set to improve and coverage will expand to new areas, which will help boost the number of STC’s subscribers.
