The average monthly salary for Saudi citizens stood at SAR 10,089 in Q1 2018, compared to SAR 3,768 for expatriates, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
Average monthly salaries of Saudi nationals and expatriates rose 2 percent and 3 percent, respectively, when compared to Q4 2017.
The average monthly salary of Saudi males reached SAR 10,289, while that of Saudi female employees hit SAR 9,230 in Q1.
The average pay for all employees across the Kingdom reached SAR 6,210 in the same period.
By sector, the average monthly salary for Saudi public employees came in at SAR 11,095, while for expats it reached SAR 10,298.
Saudis working in the private sector earned the average monthly salary of SAR 7,197, compared to SAR 3,899 for expats.
Age wise, the highest paid Saudis were between 50-54 years old, earning the average salary of SAR 14,251. Expats aged 65 years or older earned the average of SAR 6,189 per month.
