US-based oilfield services firm McDermott International on Monday said it has won a contract for building 23 storage tanks at the Jubail United Petrochemical Company (JUPC) plant in Saudi Arabia.
The firm noted that the contract was “sizeable,” which it defines as between $1 million and $50 million.
The project was awarded by Samsung Engineering Saudi Arabia and involves CB&I, a technology and infrastructure specialist company.
The fixed lump sum contract encompasses the engineering, procurement and fabrication of 23 CB&I storage tanks and modification of two existing tanks, McDermott said in a statement.
Work on the project will mainly be executed from Saudi Arabia utilizing McDermott's local capabilities and facilities, it added.
McDermott said it had significantly expanded its service offering after combining with CB&I earlier this year.
