Saudi Arabia admitted an Iranian diplomat to head Iran’s interests Office in the Kingdom, Reuters reported Monday citing official Iranian news agency (IRNA).
The office is expected to be located within the Swiss diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia, based on an agreement in 2017 in which Switzerland offered to act as a diplomatic channel between Riyadh and Tehran.
Saudi Arabia welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision in May to pull out of a 2015 deal between world powers and Iran, under which international sanctions on Iran were lifted in return for curbs on its nuclear program.
