The Saudi Air Defense Force intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Iran-backed Houthi rebels towards Jazan on Wednesday evening, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The falling projection of fragments killed a Yemeni resident and injured 11 others, said Col Turki Al Malki, the spokesman for the Arab coalition.

“Launching ballistic missiles at densely-populated civilian areas is a direct breach of the principles of the international humanitarian law,” he added.

On Monday, the Saudi Air Force had intercepted a ballistic missile fired towards Najran.
