Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport completed 55 road projects, spanning 1,689 km, in the first half of 2018 at a total value of SAR 4.9 billion, it said in a statement.
In addition, projects worth SAR 42.2 billion were approved in H1 and are under-development, it added.
The ministry is currently undertaking 447 road projects, across 12,046 km, including 67 projects in Riyadh, 61 in Makkah, 27 in Al Madinah and 27 in the Eastern province.
Also, the ministry will pay a total of SAR 1.19 billion to those who waived off their land plots in favor of road projects.
The ministry also launched operations on 21 projects spanning 545 km, and is targeting to finalize 152 projects by year-end at a total value exceeding SAR 15.26 billion.
The ministry has also agreed on taking up 70 projects until end of year at a total value of SAR 2.4 billion.
