U.S. energy companies added 10 oil rigs in the week ending Aug. 10, bringing the total count to 869, General Electric Co’s Baker Hughes energy services firm said in its closely followed report on Friday.
The number of gas rigs rose by 3 to 186 gas rigs for the week, compared to 181 gas rigs a year earlier.
This is the most oil rigs U.S. drillers added since May, as they follow up on plans to spend more on exploration and production as crude prices increase in 2018, Reuters reported.
