The National Water Company (NWC) pumped 929,000 cubic meters of water to Makkah and the holy sites as part of the services provided for the pilgrims on the first day of Eid Al-Adha.

The operations are running as planned, and the company was able to meet the growing needs of the increase in pilgrims this year, said  Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Ghamdy, NWC’s director of Makkah region.

NWC distributed 525,000 cubic meters of water to Makkah’s network, 292,000 cubic meters to the holy sites, and 112,000 cubic meters to Ashyab bottling station.

Water was pumped around the clock via public networks feeding the main tanks, drinking water network, firefighting networks and services areas, under the supervision of the firm’s engineers and staff, he said.

No significant water cuts affected the service, and 434 water cut reports were handled by smart systems according to the highest standards, he added.
