Saudi Arabia’s housing ministry has implemented 48 residential projects through public-private partnerships (PPP) to build 71,700 residential units, data issued by the ministry showed.

 

The apartment and villa units span across 18 cities including Riyadh, Khamis Mushait, Tabuk, Dammam, Jeddah, Taif, Ahsa, Al-Jouf, Maddinah, Yanbu, Khobar, Qatif, Jazan, Makkah, Rabigh, Hofuf, Abha and Arar.

 

Jeddah had 18,300 units, the biggest number of units built in partnership with the private sector, followed by Riyadh at 15,800 units.

 

The total of 37 real estate developers took part in building the projects over state and privately-owned land. Around 20 projects on private land had 26,100 units built, while 28 projects comprising 45,600 units were built over on ministry land.
