Saudi Arabia’s Water & Electricity Company (WEC) has received six bids for the planned Shuqaiq-3 independent water project (IWP), it announced on its website.
The bidders include:
1) Veolia, Marafiq, Alamwal Al-Khaleejiah Al-Thaniya
2) FCC Aqualia, Nesma, Haaco
3) Marubeni Corporation, Acciona Agua, Abdul Latif Jameel, Bahr Rawafid
4) Engie, Mitsubishi Corporation, SSEM, Metito
5) Acwa Power, Al-Babtain Contracting, Saudi Brothers Co.
6) Cobra, Orascom, Al-Blagha Investment
WEC plans to select the preferred bidder by Nov.1 and expects to sign a 25-year water purchase agreement with the successful bidder on Dec.13, MEED reported.
The proposed 380,000 cubic meters per day seawater reverse osmosis plant will be located in Shuqaiq, on the Red Sea coast, 137 kilometers north of Jazan, and will be powered off the grid.
