Saudi International Petrochemical Co (Sipchem) will suspend operations at its International Methanol Co. (IMC) starting Sept. 16 for scheduled turnaround, as part of its energy efficiency and performance enhancement project.

The maintenance period will last for five weeks, the company said in a bourse statement on Thursday.

The scheduled turnaround will be carried out in line with IMC's standard necessary routine preventive maintenance program and 2018 business plan.

The financial impact of the scheduled turnaround and project execution will depend on the actual duration of the turnaround. Average sales prices and will be reflected in 2018 financial results.

The Jubail-based methanol plant has taken the necessary actions to limit the potential impact on its customers.

Sipchem will duly disclose any relevant updates and progress, the statement added.
