Healthcare jobs held by Saudis to top 171,000 by 2027: report

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties projected a significant increase in healthcare jobs occupied by Saudi citizens to 171,700 jobs by 2027 from 74,900 in 2017, the commission’s report on labor market trend indicated.

 

Meanwhile, over 257,000 jobs will be occupied by expatriate professionals by 2027, the report showed.

Remarkably, the Saudization rate in the dentistry sector is set to reach 98 percent with Saudi professionals expected to hold up to 21,800 jobs by 2027 versus 7,268 in the base year of 2017.

The number of Saudi physicians is set to reach 50,800 in the next decade with a nationalization percentage of 60 percent.

The report also shows that the number of Saudi pharmacists will reach 26,700 in ten years, versus 9.440 foreign pharmacists, with a nationalization rate of 74 percent.
