Saudi Arabia’s Haramain high-speed rail will begin commercial operations on Oct. 4, Al-Madina newspaper reported, citing Rumaih Al Rumaih, chairman of the Public Transport Authority (PTA).
“The new service will have a significant positive impact on the public transport system,” Al Rumaih said.
The new stations in Al-Madinah, Rabigh, King Abdullah Economic City, Jeddah and Makkah are ready for inauguration.
Services at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport will be launched after completion of works at the new airport, he added.
