Saudi bank loans to public, private sectors hit SAR 1.49 trln in August

Saudi bank loans granted to public and private sectors rose 1 percent by the end of August to SAR 1.488 trillion, compared to SAR 1.471 trillion a year earlier, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Private sector lending edged up one percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 1.441 trillion for the month.

 

Meanwhile, the value of loans given to the public sector dropped 4 percent YoY to SAR 47.4 billion in August.
