Alawwal Bank rose nearly 5 percent to SAR 14.90 in the first 20 minutes of trading on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) on Thursday.
In contrast, Saudi British Bank (SABB) was up 1.2 percent at SAR 32.50.
The shares started trading today following yesterday’s suspension after they announced the signing of a binding merger agreement.
