Oil and gas drillers around the world, excluding the United States and Canada, cut four rigs in September compared to the previous month, bringing the total count to 1,004, after a two-month rising streak, General Electric Co.’s Baker Hughes energy services firm said in its closely followed report on Friday.
On a year-on-year (YoY) basis, oil and gas rigs increased by 73 rigs in September.
Middle East rigs fell by seven rigs month-on-month (MoM), but remained the same when compared to September 2017.
Worldwide, oil and gas rigs dropped by 20 rigs MoM and by 23 rigs YoY to 2,258 rigs in September.
