Saudi transport ministry targets SAR 70 bln investments: report

Saudi Arabia’s transport ministry aims to attract SAR 70 billion worth of investments by 2020, transport minister Nabil Ala'amoodi told Al Arabiya TV.

 

Truck parking lots and port-to-port delivery services are among the ministry’s top investments, the minister said, adding that ports were able to cut customs clearance periods from two weeks to four days.

 

The minister said in an industry conference held in Riyadh this week that the size of Saudi logistics sector amounted to SAR 60 billion, and that the kingdom has launched a strategic program to advance the sector with aim to raise efficiency and upgrade overall operational performance.
