Saudi Arabia’s telecom sector, which is ranked 12th globally, is open to new investment opportunities, said Abdullah Al-Sawahah, the Kingdom’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, told Argaam in an exclusive interview.
The ministry is closely monitoring the Saudi telecom industry – which is based on three main pillars, namely customer care, investor services, and a promising market – Al-Sawahah noted, speaking on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2018 in Riyadh.
“Any government intervention in regards to calling rates as well as licensing fees will make investors shrug off the market,” Al-Sawahah said.
The telecom ministry bans any monopolistic practices, he added, pointing out that the Saudi market has five market players and more than 25 telecom bundles offered at different rates.
