Netherlands-based Kameleon Solar is currently eyeing to expand in the market with its new production line of Colorblast solar panels, said Rob van der Stel, Director at Dutch consultancy Verocy B.V.

“We are studying the market in Saudi Arabia to observe how receptive people are to our products. We are currently scouting for partners that will collaborate with us to be able to produce these solar panels locally,” Stel told Argaam on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2018 conference in Riyadh.

Founded in 2015, the Dutch manufacturer specializes in custom-made colored solar panels for building integration.

“Today the Kingdom has many real estate developments, but every project uses conventional external building facades. Our Colorblast solar panels comprise thin films which are generally used as external covering for buildings. The solar cells are not recognizable from the outside as they can be integrated into any shapes and colors,” said Stel, who is representing Kameleon in Riyadh.

He also mentioned that the company is in the process of creating awareness in the market about the product and that "it is ready to be produced locally."
