The National Industrialization Company (TASNEE) has delayed the start-up operations of its Titanium Ilmenite Smelter Plant due to a technical issue, the company said in a bourse filing.
In order to fully assess the technical issue and ensure the safety of the employees, the Furnace 1 in the plant was shut down on Oct.29 (Sunday), TASNEE said.
“While the furnace is cooling down, we will work together with the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor Outotec to examine and identify the root cause of the shut-down,” said the company in the filing.
“Our plan is to restart the Furnace 1 in the second half (H2) of 2019,” further added the report.
