Spanish renewable energy company Acciona has submitted four bids to establish large sewage treatment and water desalination plants in Saudi Arabia, Construction Week reported citing the company’s Middle East Managing Director.
“Saudi Arabia is launching huge desalination and sewage treatment plants in the public-private partnership format. We are very active in those areas and have just submitted bid for four of the largest PPP projects,” Jesús Sancho said.
The stations will be built in the Saudi cities of Shuqaiq, Rabigh, and Dammam, and Jeddah Airport, Sancho said.
He expected similar plants to be established in Yanbu, Taif, and Ras Al Khair region in the future.
