Saudi Arabia provides $85 bln in assistance to 79 countries, says KSRelief

Saudi Arabia has provided 79 countries around the world with a $84.7 billion in aid contributions during 1996-2018, stated Abdullah Al Rabeeah, supervisor general of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), on the sidelines of a forum in the University of Warsaw.

 

Since its inception in 2015, KSRelief has implemented 482 projects in 42 countries at a total value of $1.9 billion. Of these projects, 86 percent was allocated to Yemen at a total value of SAR 1.7 billion.

 

The relief center also undertook 294 projects in Yemen in coordination with the United Nations organizations and other international as well as local non-governmental entities in several fields including healthcare, food safety and sheltering.

 

"Saudi Arabia has provided aid and sheltering to millions of people stricken by crises and calamities around the world, regardless of religion, sex or race", he noted.
