Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Aramco to expand its footprint in the Kingdom, the company said in a statement on Monday.
The MoU, signed on the sidelines of Saudi Aramco’s In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) Forum, supports the company’s efforts to drive local job creation and develop a broader base of local suppliers with the capabilities necessary to meet the demand.
“With our presence in Saudi Arabia for over 80 years and playing a vital role in the country’s oil and gas industry, we understand the need to build the skills of Saudi talents to lead and serve the diverse initiatives,” Rami Qasem, president and CEO of BHGE Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and India, said.
In addition, BHGE also carried out the official inauguration of its 30,000 square meters multi-modal facility, located in the 2nd Industrial City in Dammam (MODON) to support manufacturing, assembly, packaging and testing of turbomachinery equipment and components.
