Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahrain’s King Hamad on Monday inaugurated a new oil pipeline, to be jointly managed by Saudi Aramco and Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The pipeline is expected to pump at a current rate of 220,000 barrels per day (bpd), with a maximum capacity of 350,000 bpd, the report said.

It will run 110 kilometers, connecting Saudi Aramco’s Abqaiq oil facility with BAPCO’s refinery in Bahrain.

The new pipeline will replace the existing 73-year-old pipeline system.
