Saudi mobile phone subscribers down 1.2% in Q3

The number of Saudi Arabia's mobile phone subscribers declined by 1.2 percent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to 42.5 million in Q3 2018, with a market penetration rate of 130.5 percent, data issued by Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) showed.

 

Prepaid subscriptions accounted for 70.5 percent, or around 30 million of the total mobile users.

 

Fixed-line subscribers reached 3.29 million, with a market penetration rate of 31.6 percent. Residential fixed-lines reached 1.73 million lines, accounting for 53 percent of the total fixed-lines.

 

Mobile broadband users reached 29.9 million, while fixed broadband subscribers were around 2.07 million.
