Saudi Arabia has a total of 945,700 active institutions, rising by 15 percent year-on-year (YoY) in the third quarter of 2018, data compiled by the ministry of commerce and investment (MOCI) showed.
The number of existing companies increased by 11 percent YoY to 148,800 in Q3 2018.
Also, the number of the limited liability companies (LLCs) grew 12 percent YoY to 108,400 in the same period.
The number of the closed joint stock companies stood at 1408, rising by 5 percent YoY.
Trade registers of ten business segments increased by 8.27 - 16.94 percent YoY in Q3 2018. These business divisions include wholesale and retail, building and construction, contracting, industry, warehousing and cooling, social services, agriculture, power generation, water, mining, petroleum and financial services.
