The Saudi transport ministry plans to impose tolls on new roads by 2020, Alriyadh newspaper reported, citing Sausi transport minister, Nabil Al-Amoudi.
"Imposing fees on alternative routes or new roads is still under thorough study," said Al-Amoudi, adding that the decision is pending several approvals.
In October 2016, the Kingdom unveiled plans to impose tolls on new roads to be built by the private sector, but will not be charging tolls for use of existing roads, Argaam previously reported.
