Saudi Arabia’s King Salman issued a royal decree to extend the payment of the monthly cost of living allowance of SAR 1,000 for government staff and military personnel for one year to offset the rising cost of living, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Pensioners will receive a monthly allowance of SAR 500 for a year from the Public Pension Agency (PPA) and the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), the report said.
A cost of living allowance of SAR 500 will also be paid to the beneficiaries of the social security system for a year.

In addition, King Salman issued another royal decree that included a 10 percent increase in the stipend payments for male and female Saudi students for a year.
In January, King Salman issued a series of royal decrees ordering payment of several allowances to state employees and military staff, along with exemption from value-added tax (VAT) for some citizens to offset rising cost of living.
