Communications by mobile phones have become widespread in Saudi Arabia with the usage reaching 99.1 percent in 2018, up 0.6 percent compared to 2017, the General Authority of Statistics said in a survey.
About 92.6 percent of individuals aged between 12-65 used mobile telecommunications in 2018.
Home internet users reached 29.59 percent of all families while smart phone users are 92.23 percent by the end of 2018.
Almost 50.57 percent of families within the Kingdom own computers while preferring laptops and tablets.
The Eastern province has the highest rate of families owning computers at 68.6 percent followed by Al Baha and Riyadh at 55.94 percent and 55.77 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, 89.77 percent of families have access to the internet through mobile broadband where 68.62 percent are families use mobile internet packages and 31.01 percent use mobile modems.
Males overweight females as users of computers, mobile phones and internet.
Most people aged 15-44 years old use telecommunications and information technology with the largest group aged 20-24 years.
