Al Salem Johnson Controls has signed an agreement with Al Watania Poultry Company for the establishment of two industrial cooling plants at its facility in the Al Qassim area of Saudi Arabia, the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) solutions provider said in a statement on Tuesday.

As per the deal, Al Salem Johnson Controls will build the industrial cooling plant installed with Sabroe chillers to cool production lines and all facilities of the new poultry plant, which is part of Al Watania’s modernization plan for its slaughterhouse.

It will boast a capacity of 1,280 tonnes, the statement said.

“The deal comes as part of the company's strategic plan to raise its production capacity of chicken and eggs and is in line with expansion plans into new local and regional markets,” Dr Mohammed Sulaiman Al Rajhi, CEO of Al Watania Poultry Company, said.

“It’s also in line with government plans for domestic poultry production to meet 60 percent of domestic consumption,” he added.
