Saudi Specialized Products Company (Wahaj), an affiliate of Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem), has begun commercial operations at the ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) film plant, Sipchem said in statement to Tadawul on Tuesday.
The commissioning followed completion of testing the equipment of the plant, which will operate with a production capacity of 4,000 metric tons of EVA films.
The related financial impact is likely to show in Q1 2019, Sipchem added.
Trial operations at the EVA film facility commenced on Dec. 29, 2014, Argaam earlier reported.
The plant, which costs nearly SAR 150 million, is located in Hail.
Wahaj is co-owned by Hanwha Chemical Corporation of South Korea (HCC).
