Saudi Arabia-based Al Hokair Entertainment is planning to venture into the virtual reality (VR) space in the Kingdom and the UAE in partnership with the UK headquartered VR firm, Immotion, the company said in a statement.
“With close to 91 active entertainment centers, under Al Hokair’s key entertainment brand Sparky’s, the group will now focus on embedding their centers with comprehensive VR gaming zones by early 2019. Each VR zone will be situated within existing Al Hokair Time FECs and will have a minimum of 12 machines,” the statement added.
“In the first phase we will have four VR canters across Saudi Arabia and the UAE. We are getting ready for the millennials, they need more immersive games and they exactly know what they want from entertainment centers such as ours,” said Mishal Al Hokair, the executive vice president and general manager of the entertainment sector.
He said over the last couple of years, the firm has seen a giant leap within the VR segment, and it sees the growth to continue till at least 2025.
