IndependentArabia.com launches with Adhwan AlAhmary as the new Editor-in-Chief

Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) announced the launch of Independent Arabia, www.independentarabia.com.

 

This website marks the first phase of the SRMG project to launch the Independent, under a licensing agreement, that was signed and announced in 2017, with IDNML, the publisher of The Independent, to launch the British website and all its digital properties in Arabic, Turkish, Urdu and Persian.

 

SRMG also announced appointing Saudi journalist and political analyst, Adhwan AlAhmary, as the Editor-in-Chief of Independent Arabia.

 

The website was joined by a group of famous and well-experienced Saudi and Arab journalists operating in the project’s offices in London and the Arab World.

 

AlAhmary, who enjoys more than 16 years of experience, began his career as a journalist in the Saudi Al Watan newspaper. Later he joined AlHayat newspaper and then Asharq AlAwsat, developing its website and digital properties.

 

He spent years working for TV channels in the region, including being a correspondent in Riyadh for Orbit satellite channel. He was the editor of 'The Week in an Hour' TV program in Rotana Khalijia.  

 

AlAhmari holds a BA degree in Business Administration from King Saud University in Riyadh and a Master's Degree in Digital Media from the University of New York.

 

“We are delighted to launch this distinguished project and to have built this great relationship with The Independent. We aspire that this project will achieve a great move in the media industry in the region," Abdulrahman Alrowaita, chairman of SRMG, said.
